So when I was hippie-ing at Sacre-Coeur yesterday, there were a lot of people there. Germans, South Africans, Mexicans, Spaniards, French, Italian, English, etc. So when that guitarist I was telling you about had the WHOLE crowd (200, I'd say) singing in unison to John Lennon's "Imagine," I had to step back and evaluate the situation. It's not often that complete strangers from all over the world sing together spontaneously in a public place, no reservations. Each of the present nations have fought eachother and/or colonized eachother and/or helped eachother. History didn't matter for at least 5 minutes. It was a pretty cool moment.
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
